Monthly Library Visits

St. Louis Preschool has been making monthly visits to the Louisville Public Library for the library’s story time program for preschool children. Their close location to the library provides a perfect opportunity for a field trip right in their own backyard and allows the youngest members of the St. Louis Catholic School family to become familiar with their local library. Visits to the library are a great way to encourage literacy skills in children, to foster a love of reading and to encourage excitement for an important community service like the local library. St. Louis Preschool students are able to walk to the library for their program which makes the trip exciting for children right from the start, plus the walk serves as a great way to get the wiggles out so they are ready to listen and enjoy the story and craft led by the library staff. St. Louis is especially excited to offer this opportunity to their preschool families, with the hope that it will help in literacy development and prompt families to visit the library regularly with their own library cards for continued reading at home.
